I don’t know how often I’ll actually watch my wedding film. Is it really worth it?

Okay no one really asks me this, but if you’re on the fence about hiring a wedding videographer, here are a few things to think about. I can’t tell you how many times a bride tells me that they watch their wedding film over and over again. Your wedding day will be a blur of events, and you won’t be able to see everything that happens around you. We’re there to capture the mother’s face as she zips up the dress, the father’s tears when he see his precious daughter, the groom’s smile when his bride walks down the isle, all in high definition with clear, pristine audio - woven beautifully over carefully-chosen music - every moment placed in perfect timing to stir your heart and remind you of everything you felt on your wedding day. And if you’re not sold on the idea of getting just a wedding highlight, we take pride in producing full, front-to-back videos like the ceremony, speeches, first dances, etc. Everyone’s needs are different, so we’ve got a few essential packages with several add-on options to fit those needs.

Do you have a drone?

Yes, I use the DJI Mavic Pro and I am Part 107 Certified, which means I’m licensed by the FAA to fly drones for commercial purposes, i.e. your wedding. I will always try to capture drone footage for any wedding package, however I cannot guarantee coverage during poor weather conditions, in unauthorized airspace, or in any unsafe condition which poses a threat to other people or my equipment.

How do you choose the music for the wedding film?

I use licensable music from sites like Musicbed and Soundstripe. When you book me for your wedding, I’ll ask what kind of music you like and dislike, and take that into consideration when editing your film. I’ll also pick songs based on the style and mood of your day. If you have a request for a specific song for your wedding film, it must be licensable through a website like Musicbed (unless you know the songwriter personally and they’re willing to license it. I mean, this is Nashville.)

How long will it take to deliver the wedding film(s)?

Wedding packages are typically delivered 4-8 weeks after the wedding, though it may take approximately 12 weeks during busy seasons. If you order the Deluxe Package, which is a highlight film plus an extended documentary edit, we will typically deliver the highlight first before finishing the longer edit. We strive to complete your wedding films as fast as possible, thought we will never sacrifice quality to do so. The creative process - culling, song choice, color and audio enhancement, editing, and story-telling - takes time and strenuous dedication. This is YOUR movie which you’ll watch for the rest of your lives, so we want it looking and sounding top notch.

What is the process like?

First, I’d love to get to know you. How did you meet? What made you fall deeply in love with each other? Most of the time, we’re getting to know each other through a phone consultation, but we’re happy to meet up over coffee or lunch too! Adding a Love Story film to your package is another great way for us all to get acquainted early on. We can tag along and film during your photo engagement session and get to know your photographer as well. Being able to connect with each other before the wedding makes the wedding day so much more comfortable for everyone, and I have a better idea of what to expect when I show up, which results in better coverage.

As for booking, we require a signed agreement and a 25% non-refundable Reservation Fee which will go toward your final package cost. The remaining balance is due 2 weeks before the wedding.

On the day of the wedding, we try to not to be too intrusive. We may direct a little bit and ask you to redo something, but we want you to remember your wedding day as authentically as possible - not as “the day the video people stuck a camera in our faces and gave us a list of things to do.”

Do you travel?

Absolutely! I’m based in Nashville TN, but I will travel ANYWHERE to film your wedding. Travel fees do apply, and sometimes wedding packages are re-structured if needed to make costs more feasible.
